The City Girls Event: Manchester.

Wednesday 18 November 2015

A couple of weeks ago I headed up on the train to Manchester to go to my first proper event as a blogger. It was very exciting but even more so as it was hosted by two of my lovely friends, Holly-Lucy from Tea and Blush and Siobhan from Rock & Roses.

This is where I would normally put a lovely photo of the venue and the stalls, but I was so busy talking to everyone and having a look around, I completely forgot, take this as a very good sign because there was so much going on it was hard to stop and remember to take photos!

Firstly, I'd like to mention that we raised over £100 for The Alzheimer's Society, which is absolutely fab, this is such a great cause. The money goes towards giving help and support to those suffering from Dementia and help raise funds towards research into a cure. So thank you ladies for digging deep and raising the money! :)

There were plenty of little stations around the place, in fact I don't think I even got around them all in the 2 hours I was there, I was too busy chatting and having a good time!

The first stall I headed over to was Look Fantastic tucked away in a corner. The stall was decorated in the lovely new Beauty Box they have released, which is another subscription box service that seem to be becoming more and more popular. The lovely Laura told me all about the limited edition collection which is out in time for Christmas! The packaging was gorgeous, white with a gold pattern all over and with a box worth of £50 for only £15, it was always going to be a winner! She was kind enough to give me a second box to run a give-away, so if you are interested in winning a box for yourself, please enter via the form below! :)

You can find out more information about the beauty box and the limited editions just here

After talking to Laura I headed over to a lovely girl called Joyce doing calligraphy, I love seeing all the pens and the ink pots and she kindly wrote my name, it looks so pretty! I was interested in this because of my future wedding plans and thought calligraphy would be lovely on the invitations!

I headed over to the corner to have a little sit down and saw that there was a lovely little craft corner. There were loads of little wooden jewellery boxes with plenty of stickers, ribbons, buttons and cute things to decorate them! I thought this was really sweet and it gave me the chance to sit down and have a chat with some other bloggers.

Next up I headed over to Holly's stall showing some lovely printed cards. I love cards and crafty things and I could clearly see these had been carved out of a block and printed which reminded me of cutting my hands to shreds doing the same thing at school. The designs were super cute and she kindly gifted all the bloggers one! Holly's etsy shop can be found here.

After this I had a wonder around at all the bits and pieces dotted on all the available surfaces! I got to try these amazing Virtue iced teas, I love ice tea and these tasted great! I was so happy to be able to take a couple of these home to enjoy for a couple of days after!

Then we have to mention Siobhan's truffles, they were so good everyone thought they were from Green&Black's! Very naughty treat but tasted amazing!

I honestly could spend the next week talking about all the things that were going on during the event, then just as we were all about to leave we were given a goodie bag. The bag was the biggest thing I've ever seen! It was literally brimming with treats and I was hugely impressed and excited to delve in when I got home to have a look. There are a few things I've been loving and using, so expect a couple of blog posts from that to come soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed TheCityGirls event in Manchester and I am very proud of my friends for putting it all together and pulling it off, I can't wait to see what adventures come up next!
